Accepting Clients in New York

In psychotherapy, I work with individuals who are motivated to understand how their past has impacted them. In addition to family conflict and distress, life transitions, bi/multicultural identity, interpersonal difficulties, and sexual abuse. I have particular expertise working with trauma, and IPV (intimate partner violence). My clinical approach is relational, process-oriented, and non-judgmental.

You might have been told to not complain, to keep your head up, or not to cry. When these are messages you have heard, it is easy to deny your emotions, experience low self-esteem, and develop a negative inner critic that is fueled by anxiety, guilt, and shame. You may also feel like you have to work hard to validate your experience because you aren’t understood. Additionally, your relationships may feel overwhelming and it feels difficult to build boundaries. Overall, you’re caught up in a cycle of perpetuating pain and you become more disconnected from who you are and those around you.

I acknowledge, aim to understand, and work towards healing those parts. I offer a safe and empathetic space for my clients to be authentic and vulnerable, with the goal to practice healthy boundaries, relationships, and behaviors outside of therapy. I empower my clients to move toward the future with confidence while breaking chains of self-doubt, guilt, and generational traumas.
